Wisdom Teeth

Generally adults have 32 teeth when they have all of their teeth in place. However most people only use 28 teeth. The additional 4 teeth are called wisdom teeth and are located at the very back of the mouth.

  • Why are wisdom teeth removed?

Wisdom teeth often do not grow in the correct orientation and are misshapen. This makes them difficult to clean. Some people need urgent management of these teeth due to an infection called pericoronitis. If necessary, we are able to take these teeth out which allows for good health of the other molar teeth. Current techniques allow us to remove wisdom teeth in a way that is less uncomfortable and the new medicines we use afterwards make healing much easier.

  • Key benefits of comprehensive wisdom teeth removal

     1. Single Procedure - This eliminates multiple separate surgical interventions. It also reduces overall time spent in the dental chair and minimizes cumulative stress and anxiety

     2. Streamlined Recovery - Benefit from only one healing period instead of multiple recovery phases as well as simplified post-operative care and consistent medication management

     3. Enhanced Comfort and Convenience - Sedation options can make the entire experience more relaxed. This reduces total time away from work or daily activities and provides a more efficient approach.
